The Friends were re-established in the spring of 1995 after a brief hiatus due to the renovation of a new home for the library. Interested volunteers revamped the by-laws, filled the board positions and went to work.
Purpose
• To maintain an association of
people interested in books and
libraries.
• To focus public attention on
library services, facilities, and
needs.
• To generate funds for library
support and improvement.
• To stimulate gifts of books,
magazines, desirable collections,
endowments, and bequests for the
Enterprise Public Library.
For the past 14 years a small corps of volunteers have done just that. Our primary fund raising events are book sales. Coupled with membership, the Friends have raised over $60,000 which has been used by the library for everything from buying library materials to providing up-to-date training for staff members.
There are approximately 128 members. The board of directors for 2010 is:
President: Delores Swensen
Vice-President: Louise Hayes
Secretary: Jacqueline Bonn
Treasurer: Peggy Samuels
Publicity Chair: Ginger Hanson
Membership Chair: Mary Jon Sneckenberger
Trustee Board Representative: Mary Fleming
